Idiot Democrats Don't Get It

The Democrats have about exhausted all excuses on gas prices. I'm no fan of Bush II, but let's not forget the two major ways Democrats have helped to raise gas prices, shall we? They blocked allowing ANWAR drilling in the site set aside for oil drilling, which is as featureless as a pancake. And second, they have raised environmental laws and regulations to the point that it is next to impossible to build a cost effective refinery in this country. It's been 30 years since a refinery went on line.

Mom's afraid

StankWife and I just got back from visiting my parents. Mostly a regular visit to my folks. One thing you might find interesting is that my mother was freaked out when I confessed to being armed at home. My parents are liberal hopolophobes. They honestly think that guns can hop up, load themselves and take out entire playgrounds of schoolchilderen. I told her about what happened to my friend. She thought that he should have given them the money. Ugh.

In case you need it

People often ask, "why do you carry a gun"? "Won't that cause more problems"? My response is always, "why do you use your seatbelt"? Answer is usually "in case I need it". "There you go", I say.

A few weeks ago, my friend was sitting in his truck, counting his money. A group of punks saw him, ran up to his window, and pounded on it and demanded he hand it over. The USP .40 came out, and they scattered like cockroaches.

My friend is alive and well today because he had a gun when he needed it. Don't let them tell you otherwise.

We saw V for Vendetta over the weekend. It's about a mysterious man who leads a revolution in a futuristic totalitarian Britain. I was offended by the script being changed from the comic book to make the regime a Christian one, but the larger theme was there and is definitely worth a look. We did notice some minor plot gaps that were probably the result of deleted scenes, but overall it is a good film and a must watch for those of us who prefer smaller government.

It wasn't her fault at all

I'm getting sick and tired of the notion that men are always to blame for anything bad that happens to a woman. The Duke U. lacrosse team party/drunkfest is a prime example of this. It looks like the prosecution's case is starting to unravel:

My gut feeling is that she stripped for a bunch of rich white guys and saw $$$ in a lawsuit over sexual assault once they got drunk. I feel this is a racial thing pure and simple.

I hate illegal immigrants

There, I said it. Hate being a very strong emotion, that's how I feel. When we allow them to enter the country illegally, then live and work here without fear of being caught and deported, we cause several things to happen, none of them good. We diminish the rule of law. We bring wages down for unskilled jobs. If we grant them amnesty, then we might as well open the borders. There will be no deterrence to illegal entry and life here. At least there's a temporary impasse in D.C.:

I am a very opinionated conservative/libertarian. I believe in personal responsibility and integrity. Please bear with me as I get up and going.

I'm married, no kids, two cats. I work in the IT industry in a joke of a job, but it's better than unemployment. In addtion to spending time with my wife, family, and friends, I also enjoy fishing, shooting, and fine adult beverages. Sometimes blending them into the same timeframe.
